CONCEPT WINS TOP AWARD AT NEW DESIGNERS 2008

continued...

The interactive installation received much admiration from visitors who were intrigued by the 3D letterforms (which resemble tower blocks in a real city) and entertained by the simple typographic play on words.
Those who proceeded to interact with the unit (by pulling the lever) were further rewarded with a dark sky full of stars.
It was very satisfying to observe the enthusiastic response to the simulated 'beauty' of a starry night. Throughout the event, many people left the display having recognised first hand, the balance between wasteful lighting and its impact on the night-time environment.
